CioccolaTò: the Chocolate Festival That Transforms Torino

CioccolaTò is held every year between November and December in the squares of central Torino, with the heart of the event in Piazza San Carlo. It is the festival that celebrates Torino as the capital of chocolate, turning the city's streets into a paradise for sweet lovers. Master chocolatiers from Piedmont and the rest of Italy set up their stands with creations ranging from the classic Gianduiotto to the boldest experiments: chilli chocolate, truffle pralines, bars with Cervia salt and edible flowers. The air smells of cocoa and the visual impact is irresistible. The hands-on workshops are among the most popular attractions: adults and children can try their hand at making pralines, tempering chocolate and decorating bars under the guidance of professional pastry chefs. For an even more immersive experience, the workshop at Choco-Story Torino is available all year round. CioccolaTò also includes a route through the historic shops of the centre: with a chocolate passport, visitors can drop in on the city's most prestigious chocolate makers, sampling each one's specialities and collecting stamps. Guido Gobino, Peyrano, Strata and many others open their doors to visitors with special tastings. The event is also the perfect chance to discover sweet Torino with a tour dedicated to chocolate and Bicerin, the layered hot drink that was born right here. The festival draws over 200,000 visitors every year and admission to the exhibition area is free.
